Harbour of Rotterdam

This morning, I took the train towards Rotterdam and arrived at 8.30 at Rotterdam Central. Where I agreed to meet Mirjam and Elsbeth, both employees at YES!Delft. We took the metro towards the Wilhelminakade and walked towards the building of Port of Rotterdam. Several entrepreneurs participating in the Port Innovation Lab gave presentations on the progress of their companies. Then we took a water taxi to RDM Rotterdam, where we had lunch. Thereafter we got a guided tour at RDM Rotterdam and we got a guided tour at Ampelmann. A company that makes waves compensation systems for offshore access gangways and cranes. I found it very interesting how this technology was implemented into a business solution. After that we went to the Koninklijke Roeiers Vereenging Eendracht, where we got a presentation about the company. This company handles the mooring and unmooring of all kinds of seagoing vessels. Then we headed towards the boat where we would have the Cocktail Pitch Party. The same entrepreneurs as this morning did their pitch to several coaches and they got feedback immediately, which would help them to improve their pitch. At the end of the program, Mirjam and I went to Rotterdam Central Station, where we had pasta. Thereafter we said goodbye and I took the train home to Assen, where I arrived at 22.30.
I have had a fantastic time and got to know many amazing and inspiring people. In such a short time, I got a full picture of what an incubator does and how it helps start-ups to start up a tech company. I want to thank Pieter’s team for making this internship a wonderful experience. Finally great thanks to Pieter for giving me this opportunity. I will be coming back…
